Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare Center Volunteering

This past weekend I volunteered at Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare Center with Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology. This place is a hospital for people recovering from psychological trauma, psychiatric illness, substance abuse, and other related psychological distress. At the hospital, we spent time with the patients playing board games, playing the wii, ping pong, and other fun activities. The patients were all eager to see some new faces and enjoyed playing the games with us, too. It felt good to make their day more exciting and it was a good learning experience for someone considering going into mental healthcare.

Anyone interested in joining Psi Chi should contact Lauren White at psichisecretary@gmail.com.
