Dinner and Dialogue: Mardi Gras

It was a very informative event. Though I myself was from Louisiana, I only knew about the "tourist" Mardi Gras instead of the other aspects, such as the Mardi Gras Krewes and the Mardi Gras Indians. I also enjoyed the Louisiana style food which I recognized immediately that it was from  J Gumbos on High St. Yummy!

    I really enjoyed learning more about Mardi Gras. I agree that all I really know about Mardi Gras is the "tourist" version. I think the history surrounding the holiday is really fascinating. It's interesting that one holiday can be celebrated in so many different ways depending on the area you live in or social group you associate with. Even within one city, the celebrations vary greatly. Also, the food was really delicious.
