Guess the Straight Person Panel

This quarter I am taking a class called "Sexuality and Health" through EDUPAES. For one of our class sessions, the Guess the Straight Person Panel came in and did an interactive presentation about sexual orientation. It was a lot of fun!
And yes, it is just what it sounds like.
Basically, a group of students with varying sexual orientations comes in and at least one of them is straight. The presentation begins with a brief explanation of what GLBTQQAAIP (that's the full thing, but it's usually abbreviated to LBGT or GLBT) is. Then, the class is invited to ask any questions they want to the panle that they think might help them determine the sexual orientation of the students (i.e. favorite movie, favorite store, favorite position, fetishes). This is to help show that stereotypes surrounding queer individuals can often be as innaccurate an indicator of orientation as it can be accurrate.
After questioning the panel, students vote on the 2 people they think are straight (or the "most" straight).
The real straight person is revealed and everyone on the panel declares the way that they identify their sexuality.
The class is then invited to ask any questions they might have (i.e. coming out stories, challenges, prejudices they have faced). It is amazing to see how diverse the panel is.
It was a very interesting experience for me and a lot of fun!
However, I can see how the topics we discussed could make some people feel uncomfortable, hence why they came to a sexuality class.
But, it was great! I suggest everyone experience this!
