Urban Arts Space

Wednesday we took the bus downtown to the urban arts space. We got to look around and find out about the space. We went with the Arts Scholars as well. I thought it was really cool that anyone can use this space and that they are open to all sorts of different art and even performance art. There were pieces from students all around Ohio and just other various artists. The space is free and they are very open to working with anyone who wants to use the space to show their work. Right when we walked in there was an exhibit which involved hair, displayed in many different ways. It was a little gross but was kind of interesting. Overall they had some really neat art pieces to check out and definitely some stuff to look at and think about. You should check this place out if you have any interest in art it was really interesting.

  1. I went to the Urban Arts space as well, and was very excited to learn about the dynamic art exhibits. I really enjoyed the exhibit about hair, one of the people that work at the art space said that it was created because they wanted to know why people think hair is beautiful on the body, but disgusted by it the second it is removed from the body. Along with the hair exhibit I liked looking that the balloons that had been coated in paint, and watching a really weird movie of a guy digging a hole around himself. All in all I would recommend visiting this space to any Ohio State student because it was pretty interesting, and there were cute artsy employees.
